“People Above 70 Should Not Seek Elective Positions” – Atiku’s Running Mate, Peter Obi (Video)

As the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar celebrates his 72nd birthday, a video has surfaced of his running mate, Peter Obi berating politicians who are above “retirement age” and yet want to rule the country.

He said every public official over 60 should be retired, as is the law in the civil service so as to leave the position for the younger generations to engage in the affairs of the nation.

Peter Obi  is a politician and former governor of Anambra State serving from 17 March 2006 to 2 November 2006, when he was impeached and from 9 February 2007 to 29 May 2007 after his impeachment was overturned.

Although a fresh election was held on 29 April 2007, he was reappointed governor on 14 June 2007 after a court ruling that he should be allowed to complete a four-year term. He won the 6th of February 2010 election for a second term as governor.

On 12th of October 2018, Peter Obi was picked by the PDP’s Presidential flagbearer, Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar as his running mate in the forthcoming 2019 general elections.
