A police officer attached to Osun State police command, Corporal Fawale Rauf, has allegedly been beaten to death by officials of Department of State Services (SSS) in the state.
It was gathered that the 35-year-old Corporal Rauf reportedly had a quarrel with the officials, who later invited him to a restaurant in the town on Thursday, January 14.
On getting there, it was said that the officials descended on him with objects like rods and sticks, beating him into coma and left him unattended.
The father of three, who was serving at Dada Estate Police Station, Osogbo, died on Sunday afternoon, January 24, at Osun State Teaching Hospital, where he was being treated of the injuries he sustained during the attack.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Mrs Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident but declined to give further comments.
However, his distraught father Rabiu Fawale has demanded that the DSS officials be prosecuted for murder, noting that he reported the matter at DSS Command in Osogbo where his statement was documented but nothing was done.
