I know a lot of folks would love to visit the US or migrate to The State for studies or work purposes. After you have successfully submitted your application and have booked an appointment, you are now faced with the almighty US visa interview.
I will give you some tips on how you will be able to go through the interview successfully without any issues.
First you have to be mind prepared; that is to say, you have to prepare your mind for a positive outcome interview and remove every bit of fear or nervousness. The major problem, with people when they go for a US visa interview, is their nerves get a hold of them. They become more concerned with the outcome and unconsciously neglect their input.
The consular officer is more interested in what you say and how you say it. Many times they don’t even ask for your documents, they just want to play a physic game by trying to determine your honesty and real intent of traveling and also, the possibility of you abiding by the terms of your visa if granted. Your overall composure and eye contact tells a lot and that is what they use to ascertain their final decision as regards your application.
And also, confident people are more likely to get a favorable result than people who are shy and timid. So it is very important to build your confidence before the day of the interview. You have to read your profile several times to yourself and then believe it and be it. That way you will be able to defend what you have written down about yourself while filling the application form and also forget about the outcome and just concentrate on your delivery.
Be calm, compose yourself and relax. Don’t be in a hurry and talk to the consular officer like you will be talking anyone else that is trying to get to know you on a personal level. The truth is, from your attitude and your very first answer, the consular officer has already made up his or her mind on the outcome of your application. They are trained to examine the applicant based on their body language and the aura they exhume during the interview.
So the next time you are going for a US visa interview, take note of the points I have mentioned above and get prepared. The US visa is one of the easiest visas to get, that is if you are very good at getting into character.
I wish you the best of luck in your next interview.
