Following the retirement of Inspector General of Police Solomon Arase, Reports from News Agency of Nigeria say that President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed has appointed Ibrahim Kpotun Idris, an Assistant Inspector General of police, from Niger State, as the new acting Inspector General.
Mr. Idris was the AIG in charge of operations at the force headquarters, Abuja. Before his the announcement, he was suddenly invited to the Aso Villa by the president according to a source.
“He was suddenly invited to the State House and I noticed some form of celebration by his staff after news of his summon was received. He may likely be our new boss,”
